Does one pay to get nominated?
No, one doesn’t need to pay to get nominated. However, for open registrations, a facilitation levy may be requested that goes towards the special team constituted to review the music and videos submitted; but this doesn’t guarantee one’s nomination.
Do the nominees and winners receive monetary and/or any other prizes?
The VIGA Music Awards guarantees winners the coveted prestigious awards statuette and Certificates of Nomination to the nominees. However, there are cases when sponsors may provide prizes in kind and/or cash for all or selected winners.
Are Nominees allowed to have company at the VIGA Music Awards event(s)?
Yes, nominees are allowed to have company at the VIGA Music Awards event(s). But as much as the nominees may receive a gratis VIP invitation, each person in their company may be required to pay for special subsidized tickets. The respective are advised to seek any timely clarifications on this from the VIGA Music Awards management or the Federation of Gospel Artists of Uganda (FGAU).
Do artists pay to access VIGA events?
Yes, artists are required to pay to access the payable VIGA events. However, all Nominees receive a special Gratis Pass for the respective Awards Galas, and members of the VIGA Community also have special considerations that are always communicated.
How does an artist qualify to sing, minister, or perform at the VIGA events?
The VIGA events committee normally comes up with the list of the respective artists to sing or minister or perform, putting into consideration the theme of the event and the general prevailing market demands and media trends. On occasions, the event sponsors may advise or request for specific artists accordingly. In most cases the considered artists are ViGA winners and nominees.
Does VIGA Music Awards sign and manage or promote artists?
VIGA Music Awards does not take on the job or responsibility of a label, artist’ manager, promoter, music distributor, etc. But we believe and have witnessed that artists who win or get nominated, or even perform at the VIGA events further enhance their brand and ministry and get strategic exposure that leads them to enormous benefits including getting signed by top labels among others.
Are secular artists considered in the VIGA Music Awards?
Yes, ‘secular’ artists are considered in the ViGA Music Awards if they produce music carrying Christian/gospel lyrics by the ViGA criteria.
